Intro to Scent Work is a 6-week group class that teaches your dog to hunt using their most powerful sense and teaches you how to get out of the way and let them.
Most dogs spend their whole lives with their nose mostly ignored.
They walk on leash, sit on command, stay when asked. But the thing they are actually built to do (hunt by smell) almost never gets used. When a dog's nose gets activated in a structured way, something shifts. Confidence builds. Focus sharpens. The dog that seemed distracted or anxious often becomes calm and purposeful.

Intro to Scent Work is the first course in the Scentsible Detection Method. Before your dog learns to find a specific target odor, they need to know how to hunt. That is exactly what these 6 weeks build.
No target odor is introduced yet. No formal nose work titles are being chased. This is pure foundation. Boxes loaded with food, progressively more complex hides, and your dog learning to search with drive and confidence across different heights, environments, and levels of difficulty.
Your job as the handler is to stay quiet and let your dog work. That is harder than it sounds, and one of the most valuable things you will learn.
Intro to Scent Work is a standalone group class. You sign up for the class on its own, with no ongoing commitment required.
This class is right for you if:- Your dog has never done nose work before
- You want an activity that mentally tires your dog without physical exhaustion
- Your dog is reactive, anxious, or easily overstimulated and needs a confidence builder
- You are curious about nose work or scent detection and want to try it
Sniffing regulates.
Every dog needs a job. Obedience manages behavior on the surface. Scent work reaches the nervous system underneath it. Slow, focused sniffing lowers a dog's heart rate and moves them out of fight or flight into a calm, focused state.

- Scent is a cloud, not a dot
Your dog is working a spreading cloud, so the search will curve and circle before it lands.
- Air is invisible water
Odor flows, pools and gets stuck. If your dog is stuck in a corner, the smell probably is too.
- Scent equals reward
We pair the target smell with something your dog loves until finding it feels like a win.
- Sniffing regulates
Every search is a calming exercise in disguise. A sniffing dog is a dog settling down.
- Trust the dog's nose
Your job is to stay quiet and follow. The dog knows where the smell is before you do.
