What is nervous system based dog training?

Nervous system based dog training addresses the root cause of behavior rather than suppressing symptoms. Before teaching commands, we assess whether the dog is regulated enough to actually learn. A dog in survival mode cannot process new information. Scentsible K9 Training uses this approach for reactive, anxious, and aggressive dogs in Meridian, Boise, and the Treasure Valley.

How long does reactive dog training take?

Most dogs show meaningful progress within 4 to 8 sessions depending on the severity of their reactivity. Our Behavior Transformation package of 8 sessions is the most popular choice for reactive dogs in the Treasure Valley.

Can you train an aggressive dog?

Yes. Scentsible K9 Training specializes in dogs with aggression, reactivity, and anxiety. We address the nervous system state driving the aggression rather than suppressing the behavior. We serve Meridian, Boise, Eagle, Nampa, and surrounding areas.

What is the difference between a reactive and aggressive dog?

Reactivity is an overreaction to a trigger — lunging, barking, pulling — usually driven by fear or overstimulation. Aggression involves intent to harm. My Australian Cattle Dog and service dog, Pepper, is living proof of what's possible — a working service dog and performer, and how I learned exactly what it takes to get a dog camera-ready. Is it really free to apply?

Yes. The casting call and audition are completely free. If your dog is selected and you choose to enroll in set-ready training, that's a paid program — but there's zero obligation to apply or audition.

My dog has no acting experience. Can we still apply?

Absolutely — that's the whole point. We're casting for potential and temperament, then we do the training. Most of our talent starts with nothing more than good basics.

What kinds of jobs do roster dogs get?

Local and regional commercials, brand photoshoots, social media content, print ads, and film/TV work as opportunities come in. We submit graduates as gigs become available — placement is never guaranteed, but training makes your dog bookable.

What breeds are you looking for?

All of them. Mixed breeds are very much encouraged. Casting needs vary wildly, and trainability matters far more than looks.
